HP Deskjet 1000cxi Black Ink Cartridge Refill Instructions

Carefully follow the refill instructions below to refill your HP Deskjet 1000cxi black ink cartridges.

These instructions are based on using a Jettec refill kit with specifically formulated inks suitable for refilling HP Deskjet 1000cxi black ink cartridges although the principles are the same if you already have a refill kit

Always Cover Your Working Area
With Folded Kitchen Paper In Case Of Ink Spillage

1. Turn the cartridge upside down. Remove the plastic film that seals the filling hole ( A ) and push the ball bearing into the cartridge using an old ballpoint pen.
2. Important do not damage the hole when pushing the ball bearing into the cartridge. Note the inserted ball bearing will not damage the cartridge.
3. Assemble the syringe and needle , Pierce the bottle seal and draw up some black ink.
4. Gently fill the cartridge with ink. ( The cartridge must remain upright until instructed ).
5. Once the cartridge is full, the fill hole can now be plugged using one of the red plugs. Important the plug must be airtight if not the cartridge will leak.
6. To pressure balance the cartridge correctly, prepare a thick pile of kitchen paper. Turn the cartridge the right way up and dab off the ink that drips from the printhead. This is normal and will stop quickly when the cartridge has balanced.
7. Once the ink has stopped dripping from the printhead, insert your cartridge back into your printer and operate a cleaning cycle.
8. Important do not leave your cartridge on the absorbent material for an extended period.
9. Your printer driver may display a screen to indicate that the cartridge is still empty, close this screen and continue as normal.
10. Clean the syringe and needle for future use.

These instructions are based on using a Jettec refill kit with specifically formulated inks suitable for refilling HP Deskjet 1000cxi colour ink cartridges although the principles are the same if you already have a refill kit.

Important when refilling take care to refill colours as per the picture Not - as inferred on the cartridge label.

1. The filling holes are located on top of the cartridge. Using the drill provided, make holes in the positions marked.
2. Assemble the syringe and needle , Pierce the bottle seal and fill with the correct colour ink.
3. Insert the needle into the filling hole and push down into the cartridge. Important the cartridge contains sponge and slight resistance may be felt.
4. Slowly inject the ink. Blot the printhead with tissue to remove any excess ink before continuing to refill the next colour.
5. Important do not reseal the filling holes. Clean the syringe with water and dry before refilling with another colour.
6. Once the ink has stopped dripping from the printhead, insert your cartridge back into your printer and operate a cleaning cycle.
7. Your printer driver may display a screen to indicate that the cartridge is still empty, close this screen and continue as normal.
8. Clean the syringe and needle for future use.
