Canon Pixma IP4000 Ink
Cartridge Refill Instructions
Carefully follow the refill instructions below to refill
your Canon Pixma IP4000 black ink cartridges and also to refill your Canon
Pixma IP4000 colour ink cartridges.
These instructions are based on using a Jettec refill kit
with specifically formulated inks suitable for refilling Canon Pixma IP4000
ink cartridges although the principles are the same if you already have
a refill kit.

Always Cover Your Working Area
With Folded Kitchen Paper In Case Of Ink Spillage
- Cover the ink outlet port with tape, using the drill provided, make
a hole in the cartridge at the position marked.
- Important do not drill into the section containing the sponge.
- Assemble the syringe and needle , Pierce the bottle seal and fill
with the correct colour ink.
- Slowly fill the cartridge through the hole that you have just drilled.
- When the cartridge is full insert one of the red rubber plugs provide
or alternatively tape the hole ensuring there is a good seal. If the
hole is not sealed correctly the cartridge will leak.
- Put the excess ink back in the bottle.
- Whilst holding the cartridge upright over some absorbent material,
sink or basin, carefully remove the tape that covers the outlet port
- Blot the outlet port with absorbent material until it stops dripping
- Install the cartridge and run the cleaning cycle on the printer.
- If filling several colours always ensure that you have thoroughly
cleaned the syringe and needle with water.
- Clean the syringe and needle for future use.
